U.S. Route 44 (US 44) is an east–west United States highway that runs for 237 miles through four states in the Northeastern region of the United States. It runs from Kerhonkson, New York, in the Hudson Valley region, moves through Connecticut and Rhode Island, and ends in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on the east coast of the state right before Cape Cod.
As you near the end of RT 44 you will find yourself driving through the small town of Rehoboth, MA. Rehoboth boarders the great state of Rhode Island and has a population just over 12 thousand people. It is home to a whopping 53 historic graveyards. Despite being one of the oldest towns in America, established in 1643, Rehoboth really isn’t known for anything. Well, that is, unless you are a spooky person into spooky things or have made the mistake of picking up a hitchhiker along this route. (Come on guys it’s 2019! Don’t pick up hitchhikers!!!)
ANYWAYS if you ARE spooky or have had the displeasure of picking up a very scary dude on RT 44 then you know the one thing someone might know about Rehoboth- THE RED HEADED HITCH HIKER!
Locals to the town (which is not technically located within the constrains on of the Bridgewater Triangle, but is very close- like 2 towns over) have been reporting the Hitchhiker for decades, with the first accounts coming from the 1950s. Despite all the years gone by the description is almost always the same………. LISTEN TO THE EPISODE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THIS SUPER SCARY HITCHHIKER BY CLICKING HERE
